An Event on the Current Blockchain Healthcare Ecosystem Is Taking Place in San Francisco


Blockchain in Healthcare SF will gather impactful leaders and experts to talk about the current healthcare landscape and how game-changers intend to disrupt it.


We are happy to announce that the “Current Ecosystem of Blockchain in Healthcare” event will take place on May 16th, 2018 at Rocketspace (180 Sansome Street, San Francisco, CA 94104).

Who Are the Speakers?

Brian Secemsky


Brian Secemsky, M.D., will act as panel moderator at the event, representing the field of practical internal medicine in San Francisco, CA. He is a clinical instructor at UCSF and founder of Blockchain in Healthcare SF. His fields of interest include technology, education, and evidence-based preventive medicine.

Michael Lapinski


Michael Lapinski, Ph.D. is the CTO of Decent, a startup that raised $8 million with the goal of providing an appropriate level of healthcare service for all.
Mike has a Ph.D. from the MIT Media Lab. In addition, he has 20 years of experience in distributed systems and platforms such as blockchain and crypto-economics development.

Marquesa Finch

Marquesa Finch is a founding partner at P2Health Ventures, a startup that supports the development of public health tech solutions. The purpose of public health tech is to prevent disease and find ways to overcome common vulnerabilities within populations.
Marquesa is also the blockchain health lead for the Silicon Valley Blockchain Society, which supports blockchain health initiatives.

Lesley Stolz


Lesley Stolz, Ph.D., and a senior executive at Johnson & Johnson/JLABS California. She works to disseminate its values through management of promotional campaigns on the west coast. With 20 years of experience in business and corporate development, Lesley is senior director of business development at Aerovance, Inc. She was with GPC Biotech AG in Munich, Germany from 2002 to 2006.
Additionally, Lesley held leadership positions with BioTime, Inc., Sutro Biopharma, Inc., and Sunesis Pharmaceuticals. Key responsibilities included corporate strategy development, the fundraising process, and partnership.
She is also Senior Director of Transactions at Johnson & Johnson, negotiating partnership deals for Johnson & Johnson Innovation at the California Innovation Center.

Stephan Bauer


Stephan Bauer is a leading IT architect at Kaiser Permanente and a prominent technology investigator for blockchain and decentralized technologies. He has 30 years of experience in development, deployment, and organization of efficient distributed systems in the fields of healthcare, technology, and finance.
Stephan’s first exposure to Bitcoin occurred in 2013 at a “Startup Engineering” MOOC class. He had to code a Kickstarter app in order to receive income in Bitcoin, but the Silkroad arrests prevented implementation of further developmental steps.
He returned to blockchain applications in 2016, when they started to become involved in the healthcare arena.

Mark Stoner


Mark Stoner is an established U.S. business development leader with broad experience in international sales and marketing for firms such as Accenture and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Mark is business development director at Applicature, a blockchain development agency for distributed ledger technology (DLT) and cryptocurrencies. Applicature helps blockchain entrepreneurs implement their plans through Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs). To date, healthcare ICOs have raised a combined $150+ million.
